Unlike most temporary tattoos, POPINK temporary tattoos work by sinking into your skin rather than just sticking on top. Our tattoos are painless and super easy to apply – with only a few steps involved! Once applied, the ink reacts with the proteins and keratin in your skin, darkening over 24-36 hours.

On the tattoo applicator, you’ll notice the ink is a light blue shade. This is how the tattoo will look when first applied to your skin — but don’t worry! Over 24-36 hours, your tattoo will darken to a more tattoo-like shade.

Our temporary tattoos can last up to 1-2 weeks. How long it lasts depends greatly on where you apply the tattoo, your daily activities, and your skin’s moisture level. The ink gradually fades as your skin naturally regenerates. Want to remove it sooner? Lightly scrub your skin with an exfoliant, like warm saltwater or a body scrub. Be gentle with your skin — it may take a few tries to remove the ink entirely.

No! We're all about tattoos without the pain. The only slight discomfort you may feel is from removing the applicator, similar to peeling off a bandage. Here are a few tips for removing the applicator as smoothly as possible: -Hold your skin taut before you begin peeling. -Peel swiftly in one continuous motion.

Generally, smudging is the result of too much moisture being trapped in the applicator. This can happen if your body is too warm before you put on the tattoo or if there’s excessive movement while the tattoo is developing.
The most important things to remember are:
Moisturize the area 1 hour before application — it's best to use a water-based moisturizer.
Use the Primer Wipe before applying your tattoo to ensure your skin is exfoliated and prepped for application.
Avoid repositioning or reapplying the tattoo once it's on your skin.
Once the tattoo is developing, avoid any excessive movement and heat. Wear short sleeves to prevent heat or sweat from affecting the area.
When going to bed the first night after application, wear loose-fitting clothes over the tattooed area to avoid any overnight transfer.

If you have coarse or dense hair, we recommend shaving before application. Hair can act as a barrier between the ink and skin, preventing the tattoo from adhering directly. This may cause the ink to leak, smudge, or result in an underdeveloped tattoo.
Light hair in the application area is fine and allows for a good transfer, but the more hair there is, the greater the chance of error. If you’re unsure whether or not to shave the application area, we suggest shaving it.
Please note that shaving can cause micro-cuts in the skin, which may increase the risk of irritation. After shaving, we recommend moisturizing the skin to help heal any minor cuts and keep it healthy for application.
If you do shave, wait 24 hours before applying your tattoo.
